Clarity First Depot for Contact Lens Packaging Recycling in Queensland

Bausch + Lomb Australia has partnered with TerraCycle to facilitate recycling of contact lenses and blister packs for the first time. Any brand of used contact lenses and blister packs can be recycled for free.
“Bausch + Lomb is incredibly conscious of its environmental impact, and wants to offer its customers a better solution for their used products,” said Geraldine Maraboli, Bausch + Lomb Australia. “We are calling on anyone who wears contact lenses to sign up to the programme and help divert their lenses and blister packs from landfill.”
You are able to drop your Contact Lens packaging into Clarity Optometrists Bulimba! Or you can log on to the Terracycle website and send them directly to them. Once signed up, wearers collect their used contact lenses and blister packs in any box, download a prepaid shipping label from the TerraCycle website, attach it to the box, and drop off their package at any Australia Post outlet. The used contact lenses and blister packs collected by TerraCycle will be recycled into sustainable products and materials.
The recycling programme also gives back by making a AU$1 donation to Optometry Giving Sight for every kilogram of accepted waste sent through the programme.

Vision for Life.

ODMA visit Sydney 2017!

The Clarity team hit Sydney recently to look at whats hot in frames and equipment recently at the ODMA fair.

Hosted by the Optical Distributors & Manufacturers Association of Australia (ODMA), the ODMA Fair is a trade event held every two years. Since 1979 the ODMA Fair has been a vital resource for the industry.

ODMA2017 took place 7 – 9 July in Sydney at the new and stunning International Convention Centre at Darling Harbour. Not held in Sydney for the past 6 years, there is much anticipation for ODMA2017 to return to the harbour city.

ODMA2017 had an array of new interactive features, major networking events and strong educational content including revamped Masterclasses and Spotlight Seminars.

Recently, ODMA members have been surveyed and have provided constructive feedback to help reshape and improve outcomes of participation in the industry fair. Being back in Sydney, in a stunning new venue with many new initiatives, ODMA2017 promises to deliver the very latest in fashion, innovation and technology and be the best to date.

Watch out for new frames that will be arriving in practice very soon!

We will be doing features on new ranges as they arrive.
